2017ソーヴィニヨン・ブラン
Tropical notes, citrus and honeydew melon. Swirling brings up sweet citrus, pineapple rind and white tea. The palate has good volume, polish and vibrant acidity. Flavors of pithy stone fruit and citrus linger on the finish.
Artichoke dip, grilled asparagus, fresh tomatoes, spicy tapas, raw oysters, black cod. The Sauvignon Blanc is summer in a glass, and it loves summer foods. It’s ideal before dinner with some artichoke dip, creamy cheese or grilled asparagus. It’s a great friend of fresh tomatoes, but substantial enough to pair with chicken or spicy tapas. It brings out the very best in raw oysters, and it’s the perfect sip between bites of scallop or black cod, but it’s equally at home around a communal bowl of steamed clams. Whether you want to really focus on your meal, or just have a tasty glass of something while watching the sun go down, this is a reliably rewarding summer wine to reach for.

"Very pale green-tinged yellow. Lovely lift to the aromas of honeydew melon, grapefruit and lemon. A fruit-driven midweight with good citrus energy to its flavors of grapefruit pith and pineapple, with riper hints of guava and tropical green melon. Finishes dusty but not austere, with excellent length. Winemaker Aryn Morell told me that Matthews is now picking Sauvignon Blanc "mostly early to make a leaner, more angular" wine. I'd wait until next summer to enjoy this wine."
