Sauvignon Blanc

2016
Sauvignon Blanc

Explosive nose of green guava, citrus rind, passion fruit and slate. Swirling adds sweetness to the fruit while adding white peach and apricot preserves. The palate is vibrant and mouthwatering with great polish and minerality. A perfect balance of ripe fruit and acid to keep this impeccably drinkable.

Vintage Notes

The 2016 Matthews Sauvignon Blanc was crafted using Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon from select vineyards in Washington State, located in the Royal Slope of the Columbia Valley and the southern slopes of the Rattlesnake Mountains of Yakima Valley. Farmed using sustainable practices, the fruit was then hand-harvested early mornings late in the summer into early fall. Upon arriving in the winery, the fruit was then hand-harvested. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks (64%), French oak barrels (20%), and concrete eggs (16%), it was bottled and released with only 667 cases produced.
