2018Rosé

Sold Out

The 2018 Matthews Rosé was crafted from a couple of vineyards across two separate AVAs in Washington State in the Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Valley. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were hand-harvested in the mornings of September 13th and 17th. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was de-stemmed and macerated for 12-18 hours before pressing. Using only free-run wine, it was then moved to stainless steel tanks for 4 months. Evaluated over 40 times by our winemaking team, only 864 cases were bottled.

Tasting Notes

A complex nose of chamomile, watermelon and rose water. Hints of dried pineapple, nectarine and spice cut through a background of tangerine and white flowers. Silky and fresh, with ethereal texture carrying macerated citrus and stone fruits. Exceedingly drinkable.

Awards & Accolades

"The 2018 Matthews Rose is another beautiful new wine by the talented Aryn Morell. The wine opens with a bright bouquet of red cherry, ripe kiwi, guava and suggestions of wild mushroom. The palate reveals a kiss of sweetness and a wonderfully soft texture. Red currant jelly, ripe strawberry and cran-orange flavors round out this awesome new Rose’. Drink 2019-2025."
