2016
Rosé
Pale, with an extremely fresh nose of lime zest, pink grapefruit, cantaloupe and wet stone. After a few minutes it shows aromas of light strawberry syrup, lavender flower and white pear. This wine has a perfect balance between ripe stone fruit, melon and citrus. Perfect for the summer season and keep it cold!
Vintage Notes
The 2016 Matthews Rose’ was crafted exclusively from a single vineyard site in Washington State, located south of the Royal Slope in the Columbia Valley. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were hand-harvested early in the mornings of late summer. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was hand-sorted and macerated for 18-20 hours in order to achieve full color extraction before pressing. Using only free-run wine, it was then moved to 100% stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Evaluated over 40 individual times by our winemaking team, only 125 cases were produced.
