Announcing a new Blackboard winemaker and wines.
Recently, Matthews announced that we have contributed over $450,000 back into our local farming community. While Matthews has been hard at work investing into our own farm, and the local farms around us, there is another cause that is just as close to our hearts:
Access to education.
We believe access to education plays one of the most transformative roles in a person's life. To this end, we created our Blackboard line of wines to help in this endeavor. Our mission is to make wines that make a difference.
Today, we are announcing some exciting Blackboard news:
1. Blackboard is now available for our Members at the Jaine Tasting Room! Each case is $199, and $179 for Members ($14.91 per bottle!) This is pick-up only, and only available by the case. (Want to become a Member? click here.) Click here for directions to the Jaine tasting room.
2. Blackboard now has three different wines! Starting with the 2019 vintage, you will find a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot alongside the Blackboard Red Wine. Each of these wines is sourced from two incredible vineyard sites: Solaksen and Conner Lee. (note - these two vineyards have been featured in several of our Reserve-level wines.)
3. Blackboard has its own dedicated winemaker! His name is Soren Dietz. We are thrilled to place Blackboard in his hands. Coming from stints in Napa, at Paul Hobbs and Faust, as well as other wineries in Australia, Soren brings an elegance to the lineup that will delight Blackboard fans.
4. Blackboard now has its own website + social media! Click www.drinkblackboard.com to visit our website, and follow us here on Instagram.
The more Blackboard our fans purchase, the more we are able to donate back into educational non-profits. We have partnered with our distributor, Winebow, here in Washington and in 18 other states, to make sure the wine is available nationwide.
