Announcing a new Blackboard winemaker and wines.

Recently, Matthews announced we had been able to continue over $450,000 back into our local farming community. While Matthews has been hard at work since 2015 inventing into our own farm, and the local farms around us, there is another cause that is just as close to our heart.

Access to Education. 

We believe access to education is one of the most transformative events in a persons life. To this end, we created our Blackboard line of wines to help in this endeavor. Our mission is to make wines that make a difference. 

Today, we are announcing some exciting Blackboard news:

1. Blackboard is now available for our Members at the Jaine Cottage Tasting Room (map). Each wine is $17 per bottle, or $199 per case ($16.58 per bottle). This is pick-up only, and only for our Members.
2. Blackboard now has three different wines! In 2019 we were able to make a Red Wine, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon from two incredible vineyard sites: Solaksen and Conner Lee. (note: these two vineyard sites have featured in several of our Reserve-level wines.)
3. Blackboard has it’s own dedicated winemaker! His name is Soren Dietz. We are thrilled to place Blackboard in his hands. Coming from stints in Napa at Paul Hobbs, Faust, as well as other wineries in Australia. Soren brings an elegance to the lineup of wines that will delight Blackboard fans.

How can you help? Great question! 

The more Blackboard our fans purchase, the more we are able to donate back into educational non-profits. To this end, we have partnered with our distributor, Winebow, both here in Washington and in 18 other states, to make sure the wine is available nation-wide. If you can’t make it to Woodinville to purchase the wines directly for pickup, please ask any wine shop or grocery store to carry the wine.
